Dandenong Market is celebrating the Festival of Lights with a fun day of free entertainment for the whole family.

Diwali, the festival of lights is celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains all around the world. It signifies the triumph of good over evil and in honour of that, every family lights oil lamps called diyas in their houses, shops and public spaces. Cleaning and decorating one's house, buying new clothes and visiting friends and relatives with a box of sweets have become a part of the celebration over the years.
Join us in the celebration with vendors serving different kinds of Indian Cuisine and lots of Bollywood dance and music to keep you grooving. Dress up in traditional outfits and get a free photo clicked at our photo booth.
This event brings together a wider audience to witness and celebrate the festival.
There will also be a delicious array of food trucks and stalls to help you indulge in the best street eats from the Indian subcontinent.
Visitors to the market can enjoy traditional live music and Bollywood-inspired performances and take part in traditional Indian customs including sari wrapping and henna hand painting.
All Diwali activities and performances are free. Sundays at the Market include free parking.
