Melton Night Market: A Celebration of Diversity

Ignite your senses at the City of Melton's vibrant Melton Night Market! Across three unforgettable nights, immerse yourself in flavours, rhythms and traditions inspired by Asia, Europe and Oceania. Each evening offers a unique journey, celebrating our cultural diversity and the shared joy of community.

Wander through a dazzling array of market stalls brimming with mouthwatering cuisines, handcrafted treasures and one-of-a-kind goods. Savour the tastes of global street food and connect with local makers and vendors.

The night will come alive with live music and traditional performances to delight audiences of all ages. Whether you’re sampling new flavours, dancing to world rhythms, or simply soaking up the festive atmosphere, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Join us on the first Friday of February, March and April, 5pm to 9pm at Melton Town Centre.

Immerse yourself in the vibrant sights, sounds, and flavours of Asia at the Melton Night Market’s Asian-themed evening. Enjoy captivating performances, hands-on workshops, and family-friendly activities as we celebrate the rich cultural traditions of Asia. Below is the schedule for the night:

Main Stage Performances

  • 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM: DJ Rush

  • 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM: MC Dheepa Awtani

  • 5:15 PM: Shashila Dance Troupe
    Shashila’s dance troupe showcases the best of Sri Lankan dance traditions, including the classical Kandyan dance of the upcountry and the vibrant ‘Pahatharata’ dance of the coastal regions.

  • 5:45 PM: Sanggar Lestari Indonesian Dance
    Experience the elegance of Central Java’s traditional Gambyong Dance, performed by Ami and Tika, symbolising prosperity and fertility through graceful movements.

  • 6:00 PM Mabuhay Dance Group

    Filipino tribal dance

  • 6:30 PM: Fei Ying – Chinese Lion Dance
    A vibrant and energetic performance symbolising prosperity and good fortune, featuring dazzling costumes and rhythmic drumming to captivate audiences.

  • 7:30 PM: Wadaiko Rindo – Japanese Drumming
    Renowned for their energetic and dynamic drumming, Wadaiko Rindo delivers a spectacular display of stamina, strength, and humour. Their performances resonate with powerful vibrations that energise the audience.

  • 8:15 PM: NB Dance
    Dressed in dazzling Bollywood costumes, the NB Dance troupe lights up the stage with an energetic and glamorous display of Bollywood entertainment.

Roving Performers and Activities

  • 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Drum Workshop with Wadaiko Rindo
    Discover the art of Taiko drumming in this exhilarating hands-on workshop, where you’ll learn powerful rhythms and dynamic techniques.

  • 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Deepanshu
    Enjoy live acoustic Bollywood tunes that bring warmth and charm to the evening.

  • 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM: Prince Ravi Raja
    Marvel at the multi-skilled solo characters as they rove through the market, spreading joy and wonder.

  • 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Face Painters
    Delight the kids with beautiful and creative face painting inspired by Asian culture.
